Florida offers to host 2021 Summer Olympics if Tokyo backs out due to pandemic concerns

Florida has emerged as a potential replacement venue for the 2021 Olympics after state officials said they would be happy to host the games if Japan back outs.

Jimmy Patronis, Florida’s chief financial officer and state fire marshal, on Monday sent a letter to International Olympic Committee head Thomas Bach, touting the Sunshine State as an ideal venue.
