Mississippi Republican Governor Tate Reeves signed a bill on Thursday banning transgender athletes from girls’ or women’s teams in competitive sports.

Reeves, who has three daughters who play sports, claimed that Mississippi’s bill would ‘protect young girls from being forced to compete with biological males for athletic opportunities’.
