‘Democratic Party broadsheets’: Judge calls on Supreme Court to revoke media protections

A federal judge on Friday called for the Supreme Court to overturn a landmark case protecting the news media from defamation lawsuits.

Judge Laurence Silberman said the standard of acting with “actual malice” gave journalists and news organizations free rein to trample on people’s character.
