Florida is suing the federal government to demand cruise ships be allowed to resume sailing immediately, as a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ban is still in effect more than a year after the start of the pandemic.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced in a press briefing Thursday that the state had filed a lawsuit against the federal government over what he blasted as an ‘irrational’ delay to getting the cruise industry back up and running.
