‘State-sponsored bullying of children:’ Advocates protest after transgender athlete ban passes the Ohio House

Transgender rights advocates rallied in front of the Ohio Statehouse on Friday to protest a bill passed by the Ohio House banning transgender athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports.

A last-minute amendment to the bill would ban transgender girls and women from joining women’s teams in high school and college. If transgender girls in Ohio want to participate in school sports, they would have to join co-ed or men’s teams.
